What I offer

I offer both therapy and coaching services.

Although there are key differences between therapy and coaching (you can find more information in my FAQs), the thread that runs between all of them is a focus on deeper self-knowledge resulting in practical changes that improve my clients’ lives.

If you’re unsure whether you would benefit more from therapy or coaching, we can discuss this in your free consultation.

  • A standard individual therapy session costs £50 for 50 minutes. This can take place in person at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy or online via Google Meet.

At any one time, I will take on a small number of clients at discounted rates, as I believe therapy should be available to as many people as possible. If your current financial situation makes the standard price prohibitive, please contact me to discuss a more affordable cost for you.

  • A standard couples therapy session costs £60 for 50 minutes. This can take place in person at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy or online via Google Meet.

  • A standard coaching session costs £50 for 50 minutes. This would take place online via Google Meet.

  • As an accredited practitioner, I offer individual Life Styles Inventory coaching sessions. This is much more expensive, and generally only suitable for individuals seeking a learning and development opportunity through their employer. The cost is £750, which covers the cost of Human Synergistics International preparing your coaching report, and me then preparing and delivering a 2 hour coaching session.

  • I offer Group Styles Inventory coaching sessions to teams, at a cost of £900. This covers the cost of me purchasing a simulation exercise from Human Synergistics International, and then delivering this to a team over a 3-4 hour session, which can be held in-person in Greater Manchester or online across the UK.

My availability

I work all day on Mondays at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy in Chorlton, where I am available to meet clients face-to-face for therapy.

I have availability at various times online between Tuesdays and Fridays, where I can meet clients online for both therapy and coaching.

If we have an arrangement to meet on Mondays face-to-face, we can still hold those sessions online on an ad hoc basis, as I understand that personal circumstances can occasionally make in-person attendance difficult.

Accessibility

The Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy is next to a bus stop, and is only a five minute walk from Chorlton tram stop.

Please note that there is no stair-free access to my room at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy. If this makes in-person attendance impossible for you, I would be happy to meet with you online, or recommend a therapist whose location can meet your accessibility requirements.

Online sessions take place via Google Meet.

How it works

Get in touch

If you think you might be interested in therapy or coaching, fill in the contact form or send me a text on 07719 247166. I’ll respond as soon as I can.

Intro call

We’ll have a free introductory call for about 10-15 minutes. You can ask me any questions you might have, and we can decide if feel we’d be a good fit. If we do, we’ll arrange a first session.

If for any reason I don’t feel like I can work as your therapist (e.g. I lack expertise on your particular issue or I have a conflict of interest), I’ll recommend at least one other therapist for you to contact.

How we start

The first session will involve agreeing a contract for our work together at the start. Once we’ve discussed what you hope to get from therapy or coaching, we’ll begin our work.

Working together

I typically meet therapy clients on a weekly basis but we can agree a different routine if appropriate. The sessions themselves are guided by you. Sometimes you might want to discuss an issue that feels like it’s been a big part of your life for a long time; at other times you may want to discuss a particularly challenging event that’s happened since our last session. We will always agree what you are hoping to gain from coaching or therapy, but those goals can change over time.

How we end

There is no limit on the number of sessions you can have. You may achieve your initial goal quite quickly and then want to stop, or you may want to continue for a long time as other goals arise. You may also want to reduce the frequency of our sessions gradually over time. There is no right or wrong answer for how our work together should come to an end. Typically though, therapy is a longer term process than coaching.
